For the last 5 weeks students have been involved in a range of experiments during chemical science lessons. Students have observed a range of materials and if they are reversible or irreversible. Students were involved in making bread, sherbet and jelly. They also had the opportunity to observe changes in materials such as chocolate, eggs and pasta. All of the experiments that they have completed can be found in their science booklets, which they will be bringing home at the end of the term.
Over the past few weeks in English, we have been learning about poetry and figurative language. Students have had lots of fun sharing a variety of poems. They have created extensive lists of onomatopoeia words, explored similes and metaphors and alliteration. So far, they have explored Haiku, shape, acrostic and rhyme and have followed the structure of given poems, to create their own.
Did you know that Haiku is a Japanese poem that consists of 3 lines and 17 syllables? It has 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second line and 5 in the third line.
