Term 3 has certainly provided plenty of opportunities for resilience, patience and perseverence already with home learning being thrust upon families for four of the seven days we were in lockdown. I am truly appreciative of the commitment to learning exemplified during this time - thank you to every member of our school community. It certainly takes a village to raise a child! We were very happy to see their smiling faces when school returned for the second time on Wednesday of Week 2. And thank you to every adult/person over the age of 12 who has come onto site - it is encouraging to see everyone following the directions from SA Health to wear masks inside buildings and when social distancing isn't possible in outdoor areas, as well as using the QR codes to sign in. Thank you.
I applaud the efforts made by students, parents and staff to encourage maximum attendance for all students. The proof of the pudding is in the eating! Our attendance remains up by almost 10% since the end of Term 1. Keep going! Our next attendance reward (for all students with only sick days off) is on Friday of next week. I know the students are excited for the surprise coming their way!
Keep an eye out for communications via the SchoolZine App and Seesaw, as these are the two main modes of communication.
Stay safe, and remember my door is always open.
Kind regards,

Andamooka Olympics
Over the past two weeks, the students have been closely following Australia’s participation in the Olympics and have explored a variety of Olympic related learning tasks. We have held our own mini Olympics where students participated in events such as straw javelins, paper plate discus, ping pong ball blowing races, sprints, no water swimming, gymnastics and bean bag catapult. These tasks provided opportunities for students to work together to measure, record and average their results and culminated in the singing of our national anthem whilst the medal winners were presented with their jelly bean medals. Students have worked together to research facts about Tokyo, the host city, and Japan, have written letters to tell of their success and challenges in our games. Students have also recreated their own versions of pictograms for some of the events represented in this year’s games.
We hope you enjoy our photo gallery of this year’s competing athletes!
